Quote of the day at work...
Context: My local train is effed in the A on weekends; therefore on my Sundays, I must take the train two stops into the town in which I live, then a shuttle bus for another six stops. On my train this past Sunday evening was a relative of someone quite dear to me; I chose not to interact due to some unfortunate events occurring a month ago. However, it was a freakishly bizarre coincidence, and my coworker Carmen had some choice words on the matter:
"I think in life...whatever you think about, you attract. Not always in the way you want, but you attract it. So clearly, you should think long and hard about attracting money....to me."

Three completely awful things are happening right now (OK, so only one of them affects me directly, but still), but I find a sublime amusement in reading the French translation of the Wikipedia entry on the FSM, or as it's called, "Le Monstre en Spaghettis Volant." |

So last night I found out one of my worries was totally unfounded. Happy to see my friends and relieved, I went home on a happy note.
Woke up this morning to learn that another fear, related to the first, is still TOTALLY valid. I'm not sure whether to feel sad, disgusted or jealous.

Happy new year!
My new year's resolution is to clean my room at least once a week. It's something I can do. Oh, also, I am resolving to at least REPLY to IMs/Facebook messages from people to whom I don't have a burning desire to speak. Obviously, if they are contacting me, they want to speak to me and they deserve at least the time it takes to respond. After all, what right do I have to get peeved when people don't respond to me if I don't respond to others? So there's that... ( The year in review ) |

I am a college graduate.
My graduation ceremony felt much like my time at Sarah Lawrence, beautiful but rushed and incomplete. This was not the class I started out with (I mean, I was always class of '08 but there were a lot of changes), and I could definitely feel it.
It's the end of an era.
Also, my neighborhood is infested with turkeys, who were totes doing it in the neighbors' yard. |

Well, damn.
I may have just gotten a REALLY great job. It doesn't pay anything, but I'm going to go talk to the people in charge and if the job is mine, it is a HUGE weight off my shoulders.
Plus, the people who had the job before me were awesome so I know that they give the job to awesome people.
Also, I'm sugar-high right now because my mom sent me baklava!!!
EDIT:
Got the job.
Also, honesty feels good. I finally told my mom my true feelings about grad school and she said she kind of felt that all along. Damn mothers' intuition.
Also, my French conference got cancelled and it is officially raining like a mofo. |

I got cast in Dave McRee's play.
Ah, were this only two years ago...
Anywho, it's Reckless and there are so many amazing people in the cast and I'm excited because it's a serious role, for once.

I swear, the next person to ask me what I am doing after college is going to get the same answer I gave my mom's friend Doreen today.
"I'm planning to live in New York and get paid to be awesome."
Because, frankly, I'd rather live on rice and beans and have ugly and cheap furniture but be doing something I love, rather than have a nicer place and be stuck in a job that is so far from what I want to be doing with my life that I go home in tears every day. |

Today I moonwalked down the red carpet, hugged a celebrity (yes, I have pics, no, I am not posting them because I look stoned and she looks fly), got a free tee shirt (of course they were all the same size and being that I am a pipsqueak, albeit a rounded one, I will have to alter that mofo because I am totes not a size 20), and GOT MY ASS A TRAINEE POSITION AT MY FAVORITE PLACE EVER. And the best part is, because I'm in an intensive training program since I have to go to school in a week and change, I'M NOT ON THE PAYROLL, I GET PAID IN PRODUCTS, BITCHES. |
